- Abstract
Magnetic stimulation of microorganisms has been investigated because of its industrial applications. Furthermore, the cellular growth is the most important parameter in the microbiological study, since it is being used as a base for measuring the efficiency for other properties of the microorganisms, such as the metabolism and the production of substances of scientific and technological interest. For this reason, the response to the magnetic field of Escherichia coli is described, for being the most studied micro-organism due to living in daily human habitats, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae for its applications in the food processing industry. Moreover, micro-organisms solubilizers of phosphates are really important for the agricultural industry. They make possible for plants to assimilate the phosphorus that they cannot process by themselves, helping them grow. In this review we will deepen on Pseudomonas sp and Bacillus sp for being good solubilizers of phosphorus and for its aptitude to degrade the substratum. Hence, it is important to compile the scientific information available, where it is described the mechanisms for which the bacteria reproduce and solubilizing phosphorus, and the response of Escherichia coli, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Pseudomonas sp and Bacillus sp, to magnetic fields with variable densities.
