- Abstract
Introduction: Pulse rate and blood pressure (BP) vary during anxiety. Anxiety is a combination of physiological overarousal, tension, and somatic symptoms such as along with worry, dread, and fear of failure. Anxiety can cause dramatic, temporary spikes in your BP. If those spikes occur frequently, they cause damage to blood vessels, heart, and kidney. Materials and Methods: BP was measured standardized sphygmomanometer. The systolic pressure and diastolic pressure during a normal condition and before the exam was measured. Pulse rate was measured in the wrist region for 15 s and multiplied by four. The pulse rate was also measured during a normal condition and just before the exam. Result: Systolic BP (SBP) during normal and just before is 130.56 ± 7.596 and 140.533 ± 6.55, respectively. SBP during normal and just before is 84.876 ± 6.78 and 94.3 ± 3.92, respectively. Pulse rate during normal and just before is 80.66 ± 6.814 and 93.06 ± 5.74, respectively. Conclusion: Prevalence of moderate and high level of anxiety among students. A providing student guidance and examination preparation tip helps the students to overcome exam anxiety.
