- Abstract
Introduction: Mediterranean diet refers to a dietary profile commonly available and practiced in olive-growing areas around the Mediterranean Sea, such as Croatia, Greece, and Iytaly. This diet is most famous for its benefit to the heart. The aim of this survey is to creare an awareness on the health benefts of Mediterranean diet. Materials and Methods: The study was an online survey carried out among college going students of Chennai and Kolkata. The participating students belonged to the age group of 17–20 years. The questionnaire was formulated in a way to elicit the awareness about the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet. Results: The survey has created an awareness on the health benefits of Mediterranean diet among the participants, as it is evident that 77.5% of the participants are willing to follow the diet.
