- Abstract
To solve the long end—to—end delay and low throughput problem in undied delayed allocation protocol with wide coverage and long propagation delay of access link in buoy satellite communication system, this paper proposes a position-based slot assignment protocol. Satellites use position information of buoy to control the start position of slot allocation in the protocol, achieving discrete slots allocation to increase the available transmission slot length and reduce transmission delay. The OPNET simulation results show that the proposed slot allocation protocol can significantly improve network throughput under single-channel transmission mode,and effectively reduce buoy satellite communication system's access delay under either the single—channel mode or the dual—channel mode.
