- Abstract
The initial stage of contact with information and communication technologies has fostered the development of features that distinguish digital natives and digital immigrants. In the university context, strategies adapted to digital natives have already been proposed, however, results are not completely satisfactory because apparently not all students have developed the characteristics attributed to digital natives. The instruments found in the literature that apply to university students do not determine whether a student has developed these characteristics, but determine in some way their technological involvement. Therefore, this research proposes the DINADI strategy for the diagnosis of digital natives in the university environment through these characteristics. For this, an exploratory study is carried out that is divided into five stages: strategy design, content validity verification, internal consistency reliability verification, strategy application, and discussion of the results. In general, the results indicate that although most of the participating students have grown up with access to technologies, only a minority have developed the main characteristics attributed to digital natives.
