- Authors
Blesy, David J.
- Abstract
After the owner of a family business has spent a lifetime building a successful business, how can the owner successfully pass the business to the next generation at a minimal estate-tax cost? This article discusses the estate-planning process as well as planning techniques applicable to owners of a family business. <BR> This article focuses on the estate-planning issues involved in an owner's business-continuity planning, though as is evident by the definition, estate planning is only one piece of this complex puzzle. The article provides the reader with ideas thai can be turned into plans, or for those business owners who have already engaged in significant planning, to evaluate the planning already in place.
