- Abstract
Purpose: Evaluation of the reliability and validity of the Greek version of "Functional assessment of chronic illness therapy - spiritual well-being 12 (FACIT-SP12) scale - Non illness". Material and Method: The sample consisted of Greek nurses and nurse assistants working in two public hospitals in Athens, selected by the method of random sampling. Nurses were given "Functional assessment of chronic illness therapy - spiritual well-being 12 (FACIT-SP12) scale - Non illness", translated into Greek. For statistical analysis of the data, the IBM, SPSS, Statistics version 25.0 was used. Results: The internal consistency of the questionnaire was highly satisfactory (Cronbach's α 0. 0,789). Statistical analysis of the nurses' responses revealed three factors: Faith, meaning and peace. Conclusions: The Greek version of "Functional assessment of chronic illness therapy - spiritual well-being 12 (FACIT-SP12) scale - Non illness" is a valid and reliable tool for measuring spirituality among nurses and nurses' assistants. Further research is recommended for the use of the tool in various populations.
