- Abstract
This research aims to determine the creativity fostering levels of teachers in Science and Art Centers (BILSEM), the most widespread institution for gifted in Turkey. Descriptive survey model study was carried out in second term of 2017-2018 academic year, with 52 teachers working in 5 BİLSEMs in Ankara. The research was conducted by quantitative data collected with "Creativity Fostering Teacher Index Scale" developed by Soh (2000) and adapted to Turkish by Dikici (2013). Data was analyzed using t-test and ANOVA with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 22.0 version. According to results, the average of total scores of the scale was found 149,53. Considering the highest score that can be taken from the scale is 165, the creativity fostering levels of teachers can be evaluated as high. While scores do not differ significantly by gender, age, occupational seniority, and working time with gifted, subscale of independence differs significantly from educational status. It is also possible to examine the creativity fostering levels of teachers in formal educational institutions where gifted students attend.
