- Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the personal innovativeness level of the personnel working at Provincial Directorates of Youth Services and Sports throughout Turkey. While the study was conducted in scan pattern within the context of a quantitative research method which is inherent in social sciences, a 5-point Likert-type scale was used as a data collection tool within this process. According to the findings obtained, the personal innovativeness levels of the personnel working at the Provincial Directorate of Youth Services and Sports were moderate. Moreover, almost half of the personnel had interrogator characteristics within the personal innovativeness groups. Furthermore, the personal innovativeness levels of the personnel vary by their demographic characteristics (education, service period, job description and geographical region). Accordingly, it was understood that the personal innovativeness level of the personnel, who had a doctoral degree with 7- 9 years of experience in Southeastern Anatolia Region and who worked as a trainer, was high. Moreover, statistically significant differences were determined between the sub-dimensions of the personal innovativeness scale and the demographic characteristics of employees. In conclusion, it was understood that the personal innovativeness level of the personnel of the Provincial Directorate of Youth Services and Sports was moderate, and this level varied by the demographic characteristics of the personnel. Consequently, it is possible to say that it is necessary to support and popularize institutional and personal innovativeness at Provincial Directorates of Youth Services and Sports. Therefore, it can be predicted that the managers of the institution will adopt a management approach that will pave the way for personal innovativeness.
