- Abstract
Job satisfaction that is defined as work-related well-being of a person, is a form of assessment on job or the state of one's job, positively or negatively. Job satisfaction is affected stressful life events such as work load and role conflict, and some psychological variables such as self-efficacy and personality. Also, job satisfaction is related to the kind and nature of the profession. There are some researches examining the teachers' job satisfaction depending on the different variables. The main aim of this study is to examine the relationships between teachers' job satisfaction and Type-A personality traits, stress resources, self-efficacy beliefs. In this study, the relationships between teachers' job satisfaction and age, gender, marital status, kind of working institution and administration experience also are investigated. The research was carried out in the academic year 2012-2013, with the participation 689 teachers (Female = 346, Male = 343) working in private and public educational institutions in Trabzon. The Personal Information Form, Type A Personality Scale, Job Satisfaction Scale, Stress Sources Scale, General Self-Efficacy Scale were used as data collection tools. According to the findings of the study, Type A personality traits, stress sources and self-efficacy beliefs predicted job satisfaction of teachers significantly. In addition, findings showed that age, kind of working institution were significant predictors of the job satisfaction. The obtained results were discussed in accordance with the findings of the literature and were made recommendations.
