- Title
Exercise and Antioxidants: Current Oxidative Stress Biomarkers: Future challenges and limitations.
- Authors
Fagieh, Taghreed M.
- Abstract
This review provides an overview on the balance between the production of reactive oxygen species and their removal by antioxidants in living organism in the last few years. The core of the review will discuss the formation of ROS and how it strongly relates to the contribution of redox metals. The impact of oxidative stress on cells and how they respond to stress conditions and current biomarkers of exercise-induced oxidative stress will be reviewed in more details. The current review will also briefly discuss the limitations of analytical techniques used for determination of biological elements as reliable oxidative stress markers.
