- Title
Immobilization of Catalase on Textile Carrier Materials.
- Authors
Opwis, K.; Knittel, D.; Schollmeyer, E.
- Abstract
Catalase can be durably immobilized on carrier fabrics made of cotton or nylon 6. A carrier-specific activation method is used that only slightly impairs enzymatic activity. The enzyme load onto the carrier increases due to the additional crosslinking making the fabrics usable several times. The integral activity after several reuses is much higher than the activity of the free, unfixed catalase, which can be used only once. Low cost fabrics made of cotton and nylon 6 have further advantages when compared to other carrier materials including easy handling, flexible construction, and high throughput.
