- Abstract
Insider trading with non-public information has some ethical implications as both supporters and opponents use ethical theories as utilitarian, social contract and stakeholder to support and oppose it. Although there are laws and convicted cases of insider trading in some developed countries, but still there are other developed and developing countries where insider trading is not viewed as unethical and there are no know cases of convictions in countries with laws against insider trading. In addition, governments and organizations have role in either supporting or stopping insider trading and general shareholders need to apply some techniques to protect their investment from the affect of insider trading.
