Discussions on minimum wages can be found in numerous studies in the field of economics. At present, countries are adopting various solutions in order to secure minimum wages. According to the modern theory of human capital measurement and equitable remuneration, the minimum fair remuneration of an employee should amount to 8% of the value of the employee's human capital. The aim of this study is to examine whether the minimum wage in selected European Union countries (Poland, Belgium and Germany) is indeed fair. In the first part of the study, based on the literature on the subject, a model of fair wages was discussed, and the dilemma of the minimum wage in the economy. The second part presents the analysis and assessment of minimum wages in Poland, Belgium and Germany.
