- Abstract
The existing expressions for the energy equations, stagnation temperature, critical state, isentropic gas evolution etc. can be extended to the case of variable specific heats and variable isen-tropic exponents preserving their usual forms in terms of the introduced average specific heats and mean equivalent Mach numbers. A dimensionless temperature, 0, dimensionless coefficients and di-mensionless thermodynamical functions can also be introduced in order to simplify the calculation of gas evolution and avoid large differences of order of magnitude in the coefficients and possible dimensional interpretations. Thus the passing from molar to mass quantities and conversely is also simplified.
