Psychological contract goes beyond the limits of employment, which focuses exclusively on formal aspects of the work. The psychological contract refers to the unwritten, implicit expectations that employees have from the company and vice versa; it is that which defines the things the employee expects from the employer. Consequently, each of the parts involved in the contract may have different perceptions on these commitments and obligations. This paper aims to analyze how psychological contract mediates the relationship between the employee's intention to leave organization, work engagement and type of labor contract. Data were collected from 204 participants, aged between 20 and 65 years, 123 respondents employed in the public sector, 81 from de private sector, 71,6% women, 27,9% male. A cross-sectional survey research was used. The results support the hypothesis on the role of mediator between the fulfillment of the psychological contract, work engagement, lower intention to leave the organization in relation to the type of employment contract. The theoretical and applied underpinnings of this research are detailed in the conclusions.
