- Abstract
The purpose of this study is to reveal of relationships between perceived social support, empowerment, job stress and self-perception. Relations among the variables were conducted using questionnaires with 431 employees in the private hospital which operated in Kayseri city in Turkey. The relationships between the variables examined using the correlation and hierarchical regression analysis method provided important findings. Although there are various studies in the literature on variables such as social support, personnel empowerment, job stress and self perception, there are no studies with these variables together. Thanks to this study, it is thought that this gap in the literature will fill. In the light of the findings obtained, it is clearly understood that positive sense of self has organizer role on effect of co-worker support that is sub-dimension of social support to sense what is the sub dimension of empowerment and negative sense of self has organizer role on effect of co-worker support on perfection. Nevertheless, it is appointed that negative sense of self has organizer role on effect of organization support that is sub-dimension of social support to stress and overcoming what are sub-dimension of job stress. This study contributes to important role of perceived social support of psychological empowered of employee, reduce to job stress and sense of self play an organizing and active role in increase of this relation. This study is thought to lead practitioners and researchers.
