- Abstract
Endometriosis is a benign, oestrogen-dependent chronic disorder characterised by the presence of functional ectopic endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. About 60% of umbilical tumours are malignant and distinction between different causes can be difficult with the naked eye alone.4 Dermoscopy is a tool that can help narrow the differential diagnosis of umbilical tumours. The use of dermoscopy in differentiating Sister Mary Joseph nodule and cutaneous endometriosis.
