The article presents the evidence-based implementation and increase in the rate of laparoscopic hysterectomy. It notes the advantages of laparoscopic hysterectomy including better postoperative resolution documented by quicker return to normal activities compared with abdominal hysterectomy, less postoperative pain, fewer wound infections and less febrile morbidity. It explains the reasons for slow implementation of the practice including complications, operative time and advanced procedure.
