- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which examines the cytogenetic response on Imatinib drug given to patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia as first line tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy. Topics discussed include strategy to minimize side effects of the drug using low cross-intolerance between different TKIs and change therapy, use of direct sequencing for the analysis of kinase domain mutations, and effect of the drug on patients with pleural effusion.
