Abstract
The article presents information on the potent synthetic opioid called fentanyl. Topics include the role of fentanyl on the development of the opioid crisis in Canada, the dangerous nature of the opioid which was only used in hospital operating rooms in the 1990s, and the symptoms of fentanyl overdose such as erratic or weak pulse, ashen coloured and clammy skin, and slow breathing.
