- Abstract
The article highlights a discussion of the paper "Inhaled Corticosteroids in Asthma Management," by Patrick O. Sobande and Carolyn M. Kercsmar that was published within the issue. Doctor Stuart W. Stoloff notes that in the study "Improving Asthma Control Trial (IMPACT)," the group who had daily low-dose budenoside had 26 more symptom-free days than those who used intermittent therapy. Kercsmar talks about study data on wheezy infants and toddlers which indicate that short-course or seasonally inhaled steroid is not that effective.
