- Title
PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS OF DEATH-ROW PRISON INMATES.
- Authors
Panton, James H.
- Abstract
This article focuses on death-row prison inmates. Recent changes in the North Carolina legal statutes that make it mandatory to award the death sentence to all persons convicted of first degree burglary, rape and murder have led to the current confinement on death row of 51 males sentenced to be executed by asphyxiation. Concentration of these individuals in one area, subject to the same structured environmental controls, provided an opportunity to test these people psychologically in a uniformly controlled situation.
