- Abstract
The article discusses the clinical cases of patients who developed red meat allergy after experiencing tick bits in Sydney, New South Wales. Between 2003 and 200, 25 patients reported either urticaria, angioedema, respiratory distress or syncope after ingesting red meat. All patients, except one, reported of large local reactions to tick bites. Based on the clinical cases, the authors concluded an association between tick bite reactions and red meat allergy.
