Title
Caustic Reduction of Polyester Fabrics.
Authors
Houser, Kenneth D.
Abstract
The caustic reduction process might be termed controlled degradation of fabric to enhance its aesthetics. Regardless of the equipment used, there are three variables which must be controlled very closely if the process is to be reproducible. They are temperature, caustic percent and process time. Optimum effects are obtained by scouring, drying and heatsetting fabrics prior to caustic reduction.
