- Abstract
This article presents a case of a man who had developed allergic contact dermatitis due to D & C 11 in a hair cream. A man presented with a 2-month history of an acute dermatitis of the scalp, forehead, hair margin and ears. He used brilliantine hair cream regularly and uneventfully over the past 15 years. The brilliantine was nevertheless discontinued, and the dermatitis resolved. Patch tests to brilliantine were positive. The constituents of the brilliantine included D and C Yellow 11 dye, and perfume. Patch tests to D and C Yellow 11 were positive.
