- Abstract
Chronic sinusitis (CRS) is a global medical problem afflicting 5%-15% of the world's population depending on the geographical location, accounting for billions of dollars annually in healthcare expenditures. Uncontrolled disease in CRS has been reported to reach 40% of all CRS patients treated in academic referral centers, underscoring the need for novel and better strategies of care for CRS (Figure S1, reference 8). Immune test results outside the normal range with at least one test value below or above the 10th and 90th percentiles were found in 73% of the CRS patients (Table), with over 70% of patients showing multiple abnormalities.
