- Abstract
The article examines the attitudes toward mental illness of respondents from Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and 35 states participating in the 2007 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS). Respondents were asked to show their level of agreement on the effectiveness of treatment and their perception of others' attitudes toward persons with mental illness. Most adults agreed that treatment help mentally disabled lead normal lives, but responses varied according to states.
