- Abstract
The article presents the results of a survey conducted the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding changes in state cigarette excise taxes during 2010-2011. Increasing cigarette excise taxes is said to be the most common way governments have increased the price of cigarettes. The national mean cigarette excise tax among all states rose from 2009 to 2011. State that had not increased their state cigarette excise taxes since 2000 are mentioned.
