- Abstract
The article presents the results of an assessment by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the prevalence, severity and geographic distribution of pneumoconiosis among surface coal miners in the U.S. between 2010-2011. Chest radiographs were obtained through the Coal Workers' Health Surveillance Program of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. A total of 46 miners has coal workers' pneumoconiosis (CWP) while 12 had progressive massive fibrosis (PMF).
