- Abstract
Metastatic bone pain can be very severe and disabling. Effective management requires a multi-modal multidisciplinary approach. Rennie (pseudonym), a 58-year-old lady was admitted for severe generalised body aches and had fungating right breast wound. She had past history of advanced breast cancer with metastasis to bones. She opted for palliative treatment after many cycles of chemotherapy and radiation. Her bone pain was well controlled with morphine and steroids. She was eventually discharged with hospice home care. The advanced practice nurse played an important role in education and care coordination for this patient.
