- Abstract
This article presents information from a study of the prevalence and social patterning of limiting long-term illness/disability in children and young people in Great Britain under the age of 20. The article describes the origin and collection of data used in the study, the methods of analysis, and the results. The article noted that nearly 700,000 children have disabilities and that the prevalence of disability rises as the children reach age seven, with boys having a higher rate. Girls catch up to the boys when they reach the 16-19 age group.
