- Abstract
Enlargement of heart is mostly a compensatory mechanism to increase cardiac output. A female spitz aged 14 yrs with complaint of continuous coughing was examined by C-ARM. There was increased size of the heart with reduced lungs area. Treatment with enalapril maleate @ 2.5 mg twice daily and diethyl carbamazine@6.6 mg/kg body weight for 21 days and ivermectin@0.2 mg/kg bd wt for three consecutive weeks improved the cardiac health and there was no coughing 18 days post-treatment and C-ARM examination on 19th days showed reduction in heart size.
