- Abstract
The authors carry out a comparative analysis of patients with acute pancreatitis according to Ranson and APACHE II rating scales to form the final diagnosis, as well as to predict the risk of death in acute pancreatitis, which plays a major role in determining the treatment tactics of patients. The authors conclude that surgical activity in acute pancreatitis of biliary aetiology was 25.6%, whereas in the case of alimentary disease only 7.9% of patients were operated on, the frequency of repeated interventions was 9.1% vs. 1.6%, while postoperative lethality reached 25.9% and 20.5% fatal outcomes of conservative treatment were recorded in 2.1% and 0.7% of cases, and the overall mortality rate was 8.2% and 2.2%.
