- Abstract
Psoriasis is a disease of the skin in which division of the skin cells takes place. This rate can be ten times higher than the usual divisional rate. This results in red, white-scale patches. These patches will develop on the forehead, elbows, knees and lower back anywhere. Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease that is considered immune-mediated and that is characteristic of hyperproliferative keratinocytes and T cells infiltration in dermis. Psoriasis is a disorder which can affect many aspects of working and social life. Several medications, such as methotrexate, cyclosporine and oral retinoids, are commercially available to help control psoriasis. However, the medications available can only alleviate person symptoms and lives. The discovery of new immunological factors and a deeper understanding of Psoriasis have centered on the use and production of new biological medicines to fight psoriasis-induced immunological factors. Herbal medicinal products are considered to have fewer side effects, ease of access and may offer potential countermeasures to other citizens. A large number of compounds that have beneficial effects have been described and the flavonoids have undergone extensive research. The activities of calcineurine in human embryonic kidney cells 293 were stated to be inhibited by Quercetin, flavonol (HEK293). There can be explorations of Quercetine and other flavonoids and their analogs for more potent antipsoriatics. Quercetin ointment is prepared and subject to a number of physicochemical evaluations in this research work. PH, drying loss, viscosity, extrudability and studies of in-vitro release of pharmaceutical products. All findings have been found in a reasonable range. Formulation F5 was the strongest based on different physicochemical characteristics and in vitro pharmaceutical release studies.
