- Abstract
In the loading and unloading process of LNG tanker, the LNG quick connector would work under low temperature and high pressure for a long time and the sealing ring of the connector was susceptible to damage, which would lead to LNG leakage and unimaginable consequences. In this study, the LNG leakage diffusion model was established by FLACS and the effectiveness of the model was verified by the field experimental data of Falcon series experiments. Taking LNG leakage and diffusion caused by sealing ring failure of LNG quick connector during loading and unloading operation as the research object, the solid model of LNG loading area was established, and the LNG diffusion law, dangerous area range, TNG equivalent of combustible gas cloud and influencing factors under the leakage condition were analyzed. The results showed that in the case of complete failure of the seal ring, the maximum diameter of the combustion and explosion-hazardous area formed by LNG diffusion was predicted to be 58 m, while the maximum volume of combustible gas cloud and the maximum TNG equivalent was 178. 7 m³ and about 24 kg, respectively.
