- Authors
Padgette, Robert L.
- Abstract
This two-part article includes information on how to understand and apply the most important aspects of performance reporting in order to meet various client needs. It begins with the simple concepts of calculating returns and goes on to discuss more complex concepts, including appropriate style benchmarks, risk analysis, peer-group universe comparisons, attribution analysis, and the implications of taxes on performance reporting. The conclusion discusses which aspects of performance reporting are most appropriate for different types of accounts and clients. A final section looks into the future to give the reader an idea of what he or she might need to do tomorrow to meet client needs.
