- Abstract
The article examines the implication of the autonomy of Syria's Kurds for the U.S., Turkey, Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq. The factors that triggered political change in the Middle East are discussed, including the rise of the Kurds in Syria and the terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), which has become a threat to the Syrian and Iraqi Kurds.
