Abstract
The article offers national, international and practical perspectives about extended producer responsibility (EPR) programs. In the early 1990s, EPR emerged in Sweden and Germany as a policy strategy to create incentives for eco-design packages and products. The effect of EPR on the recycling of packaging, electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) and household hazardous wastes is discussed.
