- Title
The Mathematical Approach in Financial Forecasting.
- Authors
Kairys, Jr., Joseph P.
- Abstract
Managers regularly use financial forecasts of a wide range of economic variables from the future level of interest rates, to future economic activity (GDP), to the future level of stock prices, so that better forecasts should help managers to make better decisions. The objective of this paper is to establish that there is a legitimate place in financial research for methodological approaches that involve a search for qualitative regularities without relying upon the development of rigorous, quantitative, mathematical models.
