As all patients developed lymphopenia and maintained low-level persistent CMV replication despite prolonged treatment with ganciclovir, letermovir was used as an alternative antiviral drug after approximately 30 weeks of ganciclovir treatment. In the case series, viral load was controlled in three patients who discontinued letermovir prophylaxis, while four patients were still on prophylaxis.
