GLO:HWR/01apr20:ans15739-fig-0001.jpg PHOTO (COLOR): Aligning the competencies and attributes of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Carey Baptist Grammar School into three domains. gl In Self-Management, we have placed the RACS competency - I Professionalism i . The second of the relational competencies, I Health advocacy i , sits at the moral heart of the RACS competencies, whilst CBGS captures this in I - Connectedness i .[11] For surgeons, it is a way of describing the compassionate, empathetic and calm demeanour, crucial in caring for patients. The final RACS and CBGS competency in the Relationships domain is I Communication i .[12] It is widely acknowledged that an enhanced relationship between the surgeon and patient is a two-way process.
