- Title
Stock Diversification in the 21st Century.
- Authors
Surz, Ronald J.
- Abstract
The article discusses stock diversification, and its effectiveness as an investment strategy when stock prices fall. The author examines stock market performance in 2006, and during the 7 years from 2000 to 2006. In 2006, the stock market performed well, especially in foreign markets, and the author discusses how American depository receipts (ADRs) fared against country indexes. The best performing sector of 2006 was telephones and utilities, but this same sector, along with information technology, did poorly in 2000-2006. The author concludes with the saying that concentration makes one wealthy, but diversification keeps one wealthy.
