- Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of transformational leadership, extrinsic reward, and knowledge sharing on creative performance of Indonesian SMEs. A survey of 270 employees working in 13 Indonesian SMEs (such as export-oriented handicraft industry) in Central Java is conducted. Structural equation modeling with AMOS 22.0 is used to test the direct effects of the hypothesized relationships. The results show that transformational leadership is positively related to knowledge sharing and creative performance as well as extrinsic rewards and knowledge sharing on creative performance. However, contrary to the expectation, extrinsic reward is not related to knowledge sharing. The findings of this study conclude that the highest transformational leadership and the highest extrinsic reward together encourage the highest knowledge sharing, which in turn improve creative performance.
