- Abstract
Implant rupture is a possible complication after breast augmentation with implants, but silicone lymphadenopathy is relatively rare presented in the literature. We present a case of painful left axillary silicone adenopathy following an implant rupture diagnosed 10 years after breast augmentation with silicone implants. A 41-year-old pacient had a breast augmentation performed in June 2008. She suffered a domestic trauma in late 2017 and was asymptomatic until September 2018, when she accused left axillary pain. A mammary echography revealed an implant rupture with suspicion of silicon extrusion because of axillary cellulitis. The intraoperative findings revealed a nodular-fibrotic capsule that was excised together with two axillary nodules and the ruptured implant. The postoperative evolution was uneventful.
