- Abstract
The article describes a case of a neonatal varicella infection in a 15-day-old baby presented with a history of a blister-like rash. The patient's elder sibling was reported to have developed chickenpox on the second day of the baby's birth. The baby was admitted for suspected sepsis, and his blood inflammatory markers, blood culture and varicella zoster virus serology were taken as baseline investigations. This case suggests the importance of aciclovir treatment if chickenpox is suspected. INSET: Case report.
