Pulmonary actinomycosis is strongly associated with aspiration of oropharyngeal or gastrointestinal secretions.[3] Pulmonary actinomycosis is a difficult to diagnose. Pulmonary actinomycosis is rare, radiologically mimicking other infections and neoplasms, difficult to diagnose and often requiring surgery and must be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of delayed resolution of the pneumonia.
