- Abstract
The productivity of buckwheat due to its specific biological properties is determined by many different direct and indirect factors, mainly meteorological conditions and the amount of biogenic elements in the soil. Optimizing plant supply with nutritional elements influences buckwheat physiological processes (chlorophyll synthesis) and yield (biomass and grain) formation. The purpose of the research is to determine the influence of changes in chlorophyll synthesis on the productivity of buckwheat of various genotypes in different agricultural systems. Research on buckwheat varieties 'VB Vokiai', 'VB Nojai', 'Kora' and 'Panda' in organic and traditional farming systems was carried out in Voke Branch of Institute of Agriculture of Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry in 2016-2018. Research has shown that the amount of chlorophyll in leaves determined the efficiency of the photosynthesis process, better supply of plants with assimilates and biomass formation in both agricultural systems (R2 = 0.50-0.99). Buckwheat variety 'Kora' stood out from other varieties in its ability to synthesize 10% more pigment chlorophyll regardless of the agricultural system used.
