- Abstract
The physical fitness monitoring is a profound indicator of the health condition during both childhood and adolescence as well as in adulthood. The research's problem is to establish gender differences in the anthropometric measures, body composition measures and motoric tests between Macedonian boys and girls aged 6 from Skopje region. The research was conducted on a sample of 353 respondents, randomly selected from several primary schools in Skopje and the region. The sample is divided into two subsamples as follows: 154 male respondents and 199 female respondents. In order to realize the goals of the research, they have changed twelve (12) variables in total are applied in the research, of which 4 variables are for assessing the anthropometric characteristics, 2 are for assessing the body composition, 6 for assessing motoric abilities. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and single paired samples t-test. On the basis of the obtained and analyzed results, it can be concluded that there is statistically significant difference between the boys and girls in their anthropometric measures, body composition and motoric tests. The boys are more dominant in the abilities that are developed under the influence of physical exercising (hand dynamometry, long jump, lying down - sit for 30 seconds, 4 x 10 shuttle run, 20-meter shuttle run' and maximal oxygen uptake calculated by the test '20-meter shuttle run), whereas the girls demonstrate much better results in flexibility. The obtained data suggests that scientific planning and programming of the curriculum are strongly advisable in order to optimize the relation between the amount of subcutaneous fat tissue and muscle mass, which will run the chance of maximal motoric function in a wide range of abilities, and especially with the dimensions of strength and endurance.
