- Abstract
The study aims to question the relevance of a causal conception of personality traits in the strengthening of a victim posture in women under relationship control. The individual determinants of thirty-four victims are explored through Cloninger's psychobiological model of personality (TCI). Factor analysis identifies pronounced internal coherences: an emotional attachment style marked by abandonment anxiety, need for attention, lack of autonomy, dependency, unstable interpersonal relationships, emotional insecurity, lack of self-confidence and negative self-image. Fear of abandonment, emotional instability combined with the need for dependency and overprotection can influence ambivalent, chaotic or conflictual marital relationships. These results cannot be applied generally. The concept of "personality" is discussed in the context of work according to the socio-cognitive perspective. The study concludes with a victimology reading around the moderating role of personality traits are being questioned.
